Yo! 2009 is in the HOUSE!!! We're starting off the year with a
HUGE fucking B A N G!!! Parkway fucking Drive is coming to Hong
Kong!!! So all you metal - metalcore fans throughout this city, get
PSYCHED! :-) We are very excited...more information about the show will be up
soon. We can just tell you that one of our very own will finally be

Sorry...the bad news first...King Ly Chee had to cancel their
upcoming China tour which they were super excited about. One of
their members can no longer get the days off. It sucks. Members of
King Ly Chee are pissed OFF beyond belief... The good news...we've got a new show coming up that we're super
excited about!!! The band Conquest for Death from the US are going
to come by HK to play one show as part of their Australia/Asian
tour... Please check out the flyer for more information! Two brand new
bands are going to be playing at the show: One Last Fall and Contact
Chord...both bands have played shows but we're excited that they've
agreed to play at a show that we organized!!!

Wei...so King Ly Chee is in the midst of confirming a China
tour! This is their first tour of China since 2000!!! THAT'S 8 YEARS
AGO!!! Needless to say they're very excited...
The tour is brought to them by the great people at Hot Pot Music
- one of China's newest powerhouse labels and tour organizers! Run,
owned and managed by one of the best dudes in China - Paul...
Okay - so we have a show on November 8 that we're really excited
about! It's for a US punk/thrash band called Conquest of Death and
will be held at the Warehouse! The show will be supported by: 218,
One Last Will and Contact Chord! 2 of these bands are brand new
bands so please come out and support if you can!!! Contact Chord is
a brand new hardcore band featuring members who are only 14 years
old!!! :-) Should be exciting!!!
Shepherds the Weak recently conducted an interview with a
website called Filipinometal.com!!! Check it out to read up on your
history of your favorite HK-based-Filipino-metal heroes! I WANT MY
SHEPHERDS THE WEAK!

Yo...had a pretty busy summer...King Ly Chee and Shepherds the
Weak played 2 shows in the Philippines...both bands are working hard
on new songs etc and that's why you haven't seen either of them
playing shows lately.
King Ly Chee will be announcing a little December thing which
they're VERY excited about...more info on this later...
Anyway, as you can see on our main page - our next show that we've
organized is coming up...it's a show that we've put together to help
out one of the best organizations in Hong Kong that has been
supporting local indie bands for well over 10 years...The
Warehouse...

Records! We have been so lucky to have had the opportunity to
organize shows for so many wonderful bands!!! More to come!!
Next show is with Chinese punk rock legends - Brain Failure! The
biggest punk rock band from China...it's going to be great!!! See

October 25, 2007: Dude...we're SO sorry!!! The website has been
down and you can TOTALLY point all blame to the moron behind King Ly
Chee and this website - yes, that's Riz. Because he (meaning me -
I'm the one typing this) forgot to pay for re-registering the domain
name "startfromscratchrecords.com" we ended up losing the name! So
some bastard online took our name and is now holding it. So what are
we going to do? We found out that this name:
"www.startfromscratchrecords.com.hk
" is available!!! And so since we're so damn proud to be from Hong
Kong - we thought adding the ".hk" was a great idea!!!
So here it is - we're back up...please help us update all your links

First of all:
The Start From Scratch Records label has started distributing some

4. The Geeks - Hot after ripping Hong Kong a new asshole over the
weekend of the 20th (October 2007), we've gotten hold of their most
recent hardcore-as-hell record "Every Time We Fall"!!! This harks
back to the 80's of hardcore when hardcore was hardcore and metal
was a distant cousin of your mother's step dad's second
grandmother's sister-in-law. Straight youth-crew style vocals, no
bullshit hardcore...get it!!!

bands from all over China!!! Our very own King Ly Chee is on this

July 29, 2007: Yo yo yo...our bands Embryo and Shepherds the
Weak are both back from successful tours! Shepherds the Weak in
particular have come back with a new found spirit of wanting to
resurrect the old united atmosphere of the HK underground
community...so let's what they're going to do about it! :-)
Embryo are already scheduled to play in Guangzhou near the end of

好久不見!!!
Well lots of good things have been happening for our bands!!
First of all, King Ly Chee completed an incredibly successful
Asian tour supporting NOFX on their recent Asian tour. The tour went
through Beijing, Taipei, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta,
and Bali.
In support of this amazing tour -
King Ly Chee will be uploading a music video for the song Unite
Asia that includes footage from all these places!!! It's an
amazing video and really shows the power, spirit and passion of the
Asian underground!!! WE WILL RISE!!! Please check out the preview

Next -
Our favorite mosh-tastic band Embryo is embarking on their
very first tour!!! They will be touring with our pals in Die in
Velvet. The tour will take them through all the major cities in

February 19, 2007: KUNG HEI FAT CHOI!!!
This year is going to be an awesome year for
Start From Scratch and all our bands that's for sure!!! We already
have great news - our brother Wah recorded the show and he just sent
me some of the recordings from the show.........and it's
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!! We might actually be able to release
this on CD!!! So right now Wah is going to mix down all the rest of
the songs and then we'll hand it over to the bands and they can
decide which one or two songs they want to release!!! And then we'll
release this as the first official SFS Records release!!!

February 13, 2007: Dude!!! What an awesome show we had for our very
FIRST Start From Scratch Records show!! Thanks so much for coming
out and making it such a special night! We are SO happy that you
guys/girls enjoyed and appreciated the effort we put in getting
GREAT sound for the show! It has been a dream for us to finally put
on a GOOD sounding show at the Warehouse - which is known for not
having great sound at all... So thanks everyone again for supporting us and more importantly,
supporting our bands! We have been in discussions with another HK
band that will be joining SFS Records soon! We are so excited to
have this band join us because they're hard working, nice guys and

January 27, 2007 Hello there! Okay - so until we get someone to really make this
website properly...I'm just going to use my Frontpage expertise
(NOT!) and update this site through this. So all the links may not
work properly but we'll try to see what happens...
First off, our band Engrave Thy Heart rocked hard last night at the
Warehouse and want to thank the organizers for inviting them!!!
Next off, Start From Scratch is coming back in a "zine" form! I'm in
the process of putting it all together and will be available at our
first show!
